iRecord St Helena is an exciting app and website dedicated to recording the diverse flora and fauna of St Helena. We invite you to become a member of iRecord St Helena. Whether you’re an avid nature enthusiast or curious traveller, iRecord St Helena empowers you to contribute valuable data about the island’s wildlife.

iRecord St Helena was initially set up through the EU BEST 2.0+ Initiative, and was launched in February 2023. We are grateful to receive funding through the Darwin Plus Initiative.

Additionally, we are supported by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and the Biological Records Centre, who bring over 50 years of expertise in biological recording. Their extensive experience has been invaluable in helping us develop iRecord St Helena and grow the recording community.

We value your support as we continue to develop iRecord St Helena and grow the recording community!

What we do

iRecord St Helena makes it easy for your wildlife sightings to be collated, checked by experts and made available to support research and decision-making. Become a member of iRecord St Helena to share your sightings with the recording community, explore dynamic maps and graphs of your data and make a real contribution to science and conservation.

Why record?

Recording the biodiversity of St Helena is crucial, as an isolated island we host unique, endemic species, many of which are threatened by habitat loss; invasive species and climate change. Your observations help researchers, conservationists, and policymakers make informed decisions to protect and sustain the natural wonders of St Helena.
